BRAND NEW TO SA!

What are the benefits?
  1. Made of first-class borosilicate glass
Making this bottle highly resistant to temperature, thermal shock resistant, durable, shatter resistant AND MORE! The BIBS baby glass bottle withstands freezing, thawing in boiling water, microwave heating + it is dishwasher safe.
It also does not emit microplastics or other harmful toxins. Since glass resists chemicals + acid degradation, you don’t need to worry about any kind of harmful chemicals / microplastics leaking into the milk. The BIBS baby glass bottle is 100% free from BPA, PVS and Phthalates.
  1. Made of food-grade material
All other parts are made of 100% safe food-grade material, free of any harmful ingredients.
  1. Easy to clean
The BIBS baby glass bottle does not damage easily, nor do they get scratches / abrasions that hold onto bacteria or other residues which makes these glass bottles easy to clean and sanitize.
The glass bottle can go in the dishwasher, but DO NOT clean the latex nipple in the dishwasher, as this will break the nipple! Scroll down to “important care instructions” to learn more on how to clean / sterilise the latex nipple the right way.
  1. Do not change
The BIBS baby glass bottle will not change shape over time, nor discolour or fade.
  1. Natural rubber latex nipple
The cherry-shaped nipple has been carefully designed to support the baby’s natural sucking reflex, and shapes to his/her oral cavity. These nipples are manufactured from 100% natural rubber latex (refined to the brown/yellow rubber you know from your pacifiers) – a super soft, elastic, and resilient material, very much resembling the mother’s soft nipple.
  1. Breast-like nipple
The rounded nipple matches the nipple from the popular BIBS Colour pacifier. It is designed to mimic the mother’s soft nipple in shape + size. This is to prevent “nipple” confusion if you are both breastfeeding and supplementing with a bottle.
  1. Anti-colic design
The nipple is designed with a valve for a smooth milk flow, that reduces air swallowed while feeding.
  1. Different milk flows
The BIBS baby glass bottle nipples come in two different flows – a SLOW flow + a MEDIUM flow.
  1. Comes with a funnel
The handy funnel makes it a little easier for you to fill up the bottle fast + easily, with less milk/formula waste. It can also be folded together, so it takes up the least amount of space and then unfolded when one needs to use it.
  1. Comes with a milk lock
The BIBS baby bottle set also contains a milk lock, for easy + hygienic storage. Simply place this under the screwcap + cap, making it easy for you to take the bottle with you on the go, without having to worry about spilling the milk in your bag / stroller.
  1. Available in multiple colours
Currently available in SA – Ivory, Blush + Sage.
This means that you can mix ‘n match with separate glass bottles and colourful bottle kits.
  1. Available in two sizes
The BIBS baby glass bottle is available in two sizes – 110ml + 225ml. This way you can choose a size that fits your baby’s needs best.
  1. Meets applicable standards
This glass bottle is specially developed to meet the European standard EN14350.

Some FAQs:
+        Is the BIBS Baby Glass Bottle BPA-free?
Bisphenol A (BPA), bisphenol S (BPS) + polyvinyl chloride (PVC) are chemicals that can be found in some plastics. There have been concerns about the potentially harmful effects these chemicals can have on babies + many countries have implemented laws that ban the use of these chemicals in all baby products.

BIBS baby glass bottles are naturally BPA, BPS, and PVC-free.

+        Can the glass bottle break?
The BIBS baby glass bottle is made of borosilicate glass, which has many benefits. Among others, its highly resistant to temperature, thermal shock resistant, durable, shatter resistant AND MUCH MORE! But even though borosilicate glass is much sturdier + harder to break than regular glass, it is still glass + can of course break, if subjected to sufficiently intense force.

+        What is the difference between SLOW + MEDIUM flow?
The flow rate refers to the size of the hole(s) in the nipple, affecting how quickly milk flows into your baby’s mouth. The BIBS baby glass bottle nipples are available with both SLOW + MEDIUM flow. However, every child is different + many factors determine which flow rate suits your child! That is also why we have not age-specified our nipples / their flow rate.

However, for newborn babies, a SLOW flow rate is recommended, for slowing down bottle-feeding (to better mimic breastfeeding), to better control milk intake + ensure babies do not overeat. Normally, the flow rate will change over time as the baby grows + the older the baby gets he or she will prefer a faster flow rate.

+        What does the funnel do?
The funnel makes it easy for you to fill up the bottle with less milk/formula waste

+        What does anti-colic mean?
Colic is when a baby cries a lot, with no obvious cause. All newborns cry sometimes, but if your baby cries for more than 3 hours a day, 3 days a week for at least 1 week, then they may have colic. It is very common + affects about 1 in 5 babies. Doctors do not know what causes colic. Some suggest it is due to digestion problems / a sensitivity to something in the baby’s formula or the breastmilk.

A tip for trying to reduce colic is to help your baby swallow less air while feeding. When breastfeeding this could be trying to burp your baby more often + when bottle-feeding it could be choosing a bottle with a ventilation system. The BIBS baby glass bottle features a valve in the nipple that ensures a smooth milk flow, that reduces air swallowed while feeding.

+        Is the BIBS baby glass bottle recyclable?
Glass can be recycled, but glass’s acceptance in recycling programs varies by jurisdiction. Check your local recycling programs to find out what is recyclable in your area.

+        Can the baby bottle go in the microwave?
The BIBS baby glass bottle can withstand microwave heating.
The plastic parts and bottle nipples cannot!!

Friendly reminder that when microwave heating milk, localised overheating can occur. Always mix/stir the heated milk + check the milk temperature before feeding the child!

+        Can the baby bottle go in the freezer?
The glass bottle and plastic parts (i.e. cap, lock, screw cap, foldable funnel) can be frozen – not the nipple!

+        Can the baby bottle go in the dishwasher?
The glass bottle and plastic parts (i.e. cap, lock, screw cap, foldable funnel) can be washed in the dishwasher – not the nipple!

Important care instructions:

The latex nipple must be cleaned + sterilized (by scalding only) before each use.
  1. Pour boiling water over the nipple + let it soak in the water for approx. 5 min.
  1. Pick it up + let it dry on a clean towel.

The milk lock, screw cap, ring, + glass bottle can all be cleaned + sterilized by:
  1. Washing with hot water + soap / washing in the dishwasher.
  1. Pour boiling water over parts, to make sure all soap residue is gone.
  1. Let all the parts dry completely before re-assembly.

Should the latex nipple be replaced?
Yes, like with the BIBS pacifiers, BIBS World recommends a replacement of bottle nipples every 4-6 weeks for both safety + hygienic reasons.
Keep an eye out for any changes in the surface, changes in size + shape / rupture in the material. Replace the bottle nipple if you notice any differences.
Natural rubber latex is a natural material + is affected by sunlight, high temperatures + moisture, which accelerates the aging process of the latex material. Therefore, the material changes its properties + can become brittle / sticky. Whenever you experience a change in the material, the nipple must be replaced.

All BIBS baby glass bottles are certified to conform to the EU directive concerned with safety, health, and environment. This product is specially developed to meet the European standard EN14350.
Returns are not permitted on the BIBS baby glass bottles.
